EBS is often asked for a professional advice on how to best proceed in setting up and operating a business in the UK. Whilst each situation is different, we are happy to share many years of experience with the clients we have helped in the past, and continue to help today.
Many of our service packages include some advisory time without any further cost. If specific research or investigation is needed, we will agree any additional costs with the client in advance.
Some examples of advisory services EBS offers:
- A European air transport company needed to restructure its UK business in order to obtain a new UK Air Transport Operators Certificate following Brexit. EBS advised on and implemented a new company structure and introduced the company to a specialist lawyer.
- An importer of food ingredients from Latin America had been overcharged UK import VAT due to a mistake in the shipping and import documents. EBS helped to obtain a full refund.
- A US client had money stolen through a phishing email from its UK bank account. EBS assisted the client to manage the discussions with the bank, which resulted in the bank making a full refund.
- A privately owned European manufacturing group has its holding company established in the UK. EBS has advised on the holding company structure and manages this structure on a day to day basis.
- We helped a US public company reorganise its European operations to become more efficient and cost effective after Brexit.
- A privately owned manufacturing company supplying the automotive and aerospace industries paid more VAT than it needed to because of the way its products were moved around Europe. We managed to refund claims, which were totally successful.
- Transferring the location of a holding company to a private group to the UK can often be helpful in reducing administrative and tax compliance costs as well as reducing the overall tax burden. We have advised on these situations many times.
- Sometimes clients need to remove UK based Directors, and we have advised on this process a number of times.
